Drones are relatively new technology, only a handful of experienced and licensed providers are able to utilise this technology to carry out surveys. The use of a remotely controlled drone means we can provide our clients with photos and video footage of their roof that would otherwise be difficult to inspect. Photos will be included in the report if any snags are observed.
Using a thermal camera we identify heat or energy loss in new build properties by detecting thermal bridging, damp and missing insulation. We can also detect and find flat roof leaks, trapped moisture under water proofing, damaged or missing insulation and hidden defects. This method is used in the detection of inaccessible ingress or water leaks due to its non-destructive capabilities. It enables leaks to be repaired by limiting the works to the identified area. The final report will include thermal and digital images where we will highlight our findings.
With the use of a smoke pencil extractor fans, gas fires and wood burner flues can be tested to ensure they are in full working order. Testing for draughts around the property will also be undertaken.
We use a socket tester which is a handheld electrical device used to quickly assess whether wall sockets are properly wired and working safely. They are plugged directly into a mains socket or via an attached plug connected by a lead.

As first-time buyers we didn't know much about the house we were looking to buy. A friend mentioned about Steve and his wealth of knowledge around building sites. We reached out to Steve for help, a day later he came and checked the entire house over. He made us aware of exterior, gutters, drainage and interior problems. After all the issues were sorted with the property, we have been more than pleased with the outcome. Anyone needing any help with building inspections then look no further. Would highly recommend this company! Steve was friendly, on time and professional, he kept us informed all the way through the process. Knowledgable and experienced service followed up by a thorough report. Date of experience: 15 December 2022
Essential for any new build buyers We purchased our new build late 2021 and identified a few issues. We had great difficulty in getting the developer to rectify these ‘snags’ so sought out professional assessment before our warranty expired. Steve was approachable yet professional and made us feel our concerns were valid. The report was very detailed and gave a varied approach including heat sensor assessment for our windows and doors and drone imagery for a Birds Eye view. Due to Steve’s in-depth report our building developers have now agreed to resolve all issues. I cannot recommend this service enough and only wish I had arranged this prior to purchase Date of experience: 11 December 2022
So happy I had a snagging report done peace of mind thank you QCI. Date of experience 6 June 2021
Extremely professional service. Everything explained clearly and all queries answered. A drone was used which provided clear pictures and videos of areas we would be unable to see e.g. apex of roof, tiles, guttering etc, and full explanation of findings given. Would definitely recommend and use this company again. Date of experience: 30 December 2022
A great experience of a quality inspection Steve did an amazing job! Overall, I was very impressed with the quality of the inspection. The property was inspected for potential safety issues, structural problems, missed snags and overall livability. Steve found several issues that needed to be corrected that would have gone unnoticed. Overall I was very satisfied with the inspection. Steve was professional and took his time to explain their findings. He sent a comprehensive report of his findings shortly after the inspection. Overall, I would rate the inspection as top-notch and would definitely recommend Steve to others." Date of experience: 23 October 2022
Fantastic company We was really pleased with the service we received from Quality Check Inspectors. The communication from start to finish was fantastic and Steve was able to come out to us on a sunday afternoon, which we preferred. On the day, Steve was promt and got to work finding many snags that we had never noticed before. He was very friendly and was happy to answer any questions we raised. He gave us clear directions on how to move forward with the snag report, which was sent over to us within a couple of days. We will definitely recommend to others and use again if we buy another new build. Date of experience: 04 December 2022
The guys at QCI were great, on time, easy to deal with and extremely professional. The inspector(Steve) found a number of issues that would have caused me problems further on down the line. There is a number of minor issue but some quite substantial. I was a bit reluctant to pay for this kind of inspection as being a DIY geek I thought I would spot anything that was not right/unacceptable. How wrong could I be, I was shocked with the findings. QCI have produced a report I can use to ensure that the issue are rectified under the warranty and not at our cost further on down the line. I would highly recommend anyone buying a new home or even looking at building extensions to at least speak to the team at QCI. Date of experience: 27 January 2023
Excellent service from Steve. Very professional and very thorough. He came on site within 2 days of our request. Highly recommended. Date of experience: 28 February 2023
Superb service, something all new home buyers should consider. Professional and super helpful and we are seeing quick progress on the fixes from the builders.
I contacted Steve about problems I have had we a new tarmac driveway that a local builder has carried out for me. Although this is not a new build that I needed snagging which is what QCI usually do they still agreed to help me which was greatly appreciated and were very precise with a quick turnaround. I purchased 2 new builds last year one of which is still having snagging issues sorted out now. I wish I had heard of QCI sooner Thanks again for a great service
Steve is extremely knowledgeable and very personable - he found issues that I would just not have picked up on or even understood to be a problem, which made his service invaluable. A very worthwhile investment when buying a home!
